At the beginning of June 2006, 3G mobile operator 3 Italia introduced a flat-rate data tariff, the first to be introduced to the consumer market in Italy. The service will be available to customers for a charge of either EUR1 per day or EUR9 per month until 1 September 2006, rising to EUR2 per day or EUR15 per month thereafter. Although the service offers unlimited browsing, there is a usage cap of 10MB per day.
