Lluís Borrell, Partner at Analysys Mason, is based in the Spanish office. Lluís co-heads Analysys Mason' s Media practice and has more than 17 years of worldwide experience in the media and telecoms industry.
Lluís has led many consulting projects across the whole media value chain including major content rights’ owners, leading content producers and aggregators, platform distributors, vendors, regulators and investors across many different countries including direct-to-home (DTH), cable, IPTV and DTT. He has also written many articles on the future of media and sector trends. Recent projects include dealing with issues like new content sourcing and monetisation trends, web TV and over the top TV, multiple screens, regulation, CDNs, etc . . .
Prior to becoming consultant, Lluís worked at Eutelsat, a global satellite operator, working for the investment case of the satellites that supported the launch of digital DTH TV across Europe.
Lluís holds a Masters in Spatial and Aeronautical Telecommunications Systems (ENST, Paris), a M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering (Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya), and a MBA from INSEAD.
