Mark Gentle is a Partner at Analysys Mason, with over 20 years’ experience in IT infrastructure, relocation planning, procuring systems to suit business needs, and programme management.  He has worked on numerous big-ticket projects across many markets sectors, with a specialisation in Transport.  As such, Mark heads up Analysys Mason’s Transport consultancy unit.  Having been a company director, Mark approaches problems from a business perspective and uses IT as a tool to derive business benefits.  He has helped many clients realise a step-change in their business by reducing overheads, improving productivity and increasing efficiency.

The imminent trial of a road pricing scheme in Manchester heralds the beginning of a new era in traffic management and the ICT systems that power it. Since the introduction of the Congestion Charge in central London in February 2003, something of a sea change has occurred in governmental thinking, and tackling Britain’s ever busier roads has become a political imperative. Some of the implications are clear, but many more are not.
