Etisalat is the incumbent operator in UAE and has been aggressive in looking for acquisitions beyond UAE. Its largest investments outside UAE are in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Pakistan.
Etisalat was interested in expanding into sub-Saharan country, where Analysys Mason helped the company to build an investment case for the deployment of both fixed and mobile operations. We highlighted the necessary economic and market conditions for making the business case viable for a converged fixed and wireless service proposition in a fast-growing but low-income country.
