Analysys Mason’s approach to change is to work closely with the business to initiate the change programme, assure adoption, and to leave in place long-term capability for ongoing change.

Our role is described as Business Change Assurance, positioned to ensure that the overall solution is designed with IT and business aspects sufficiently balanced.  Traditionally, projects have placed undue emphasis on technology. We provide a counterbalance and assure the business integrity of the solution.

The emphasis on adoption and stakeholder buy-in, means that our approach goes beyond the normal ‘tick-the-box” approach to programme management. This non-formulaic approach allows programme specific issues to be resolved creatively.

Our approach to change benefits clients by assuring that :

  • the business aspects are properly considered early in the programme and stakeholders are fully engaged
  • all aspects of change are integrated, and dependencies are managed
  • accurate benefits and costs are used, and decisions are made with reference to this cost/benefit framework
  • adoption is maximised, thereby maximising ROI.

Implementing a technology solution is never sufficient to achieve ROI.  Our experience is that minimal (or late) attention to the full business process, and the full business commitment will deliver less than 10% of anticipated ROI. End-to-end process implementation has the potential to drive adoption (and ROI) to just below 50%.  However the 100% win comes when the hearts and minds of the people are won and they adopt the solution as their own.
