I have a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from Edinburgh University, and an MSc in Radio Engineering from Bradford University. After working for the RA (now Ofcom), I joined Analysys Mason as a consultant in 2001. Over the 7 years I've worked here I've been promoted to Principal Consultant in the Public Sector business unit, based in our Edinburgh office.
I chose Analysys Mason because it is a well regarded technology consultancy and offered a variety of projects – no two assignments are ever the same and you are able to continually broaden your skills in a fast-changing market.
Over the past year I have worked on a wide range of projects, including advising Ofcom on frequency planning relating to the spectrum released from analogue to digital TV switchover in the UK, advising Shetland Islands Council on options to enhance telecommunications access networks in Shetland and a number of local authorities relating to the feasibility and planning of 'wireless city' projects. I am currently working with Strathclyde Passenger Transport on implementing a managed service for their corporate voice and data network in Glasgow.
Opportunities for personal and professional development are excellent with Analysys Mason. I regulary attend industry conferences and have also gained ITIL foundation qualification. Working on a range of projects gives the opportunity to develop my project management and project delivery skills and to keep my technology knowledge up to date.
I enjoy the flexibility that consultancy offers, to work with a wide range of clients as part of an Analysys Mason project delivery team.
