Training and development

At Analysys Mason we aim to provide professional development opportunities for all staff in line with their capabilities and wherever possible, their ambitions. We want our employees to feel motivated and challenged, to be able to see what career opportunities lie ahead and how to progress towards them. This not only brings a sense of personal achievement but also leads to enhanced business performance. We recognise that everyone has different training and development needs and a wide variety of options are available to all staff.  Employees are responsible for pursuing their own professional development, with assistance from their Line Managers, Mentors and the Training Team who help to identify appropriate career routes and action plans.

Analysys Mason provides the environment and opportunities for this to take place through:

  • careful selection of projects to give appropriate on the job learning
  • an extensive programme of training courses matched to career grades
  • feedback via project debriefs and appraisal
  • mentoring for more knowledgeable colleagues
  • support, encouragement, guidance and “door opening” from Line Managers
  • objective advice and implementation assistance from the Training Team

Induction Programme.

On joining Analysys Mason new recruits spend their first week on an intensive Induction Programme designed to accelerate their understanding of the Company, its systems and its staff. They also attend overviews of each business sector to give them an insight the whole of the business and not just the particular sector in which they will be working.

Thereafter, new starters periodically attend core training courses which are appropriate to their roles within the company. These courses are run throughout the year and are held in different sites and venues across the country to encompass all areas.

Many of our courses are delivered in-house. We also use external specialists. Individual requests are always considered from staff who want to pursue related interests or further qualifications.

Our training programmes are timed to deliver courses at the most appropriate stage in an individuals career path. However, staff may attend courses at any stage if they consider it applicable to their needs even if they are not within the designated target audience. We want all our staff to be successful and to be proud of their achievements and responsibilities.
