Paul Sumner, Senior Manager, is based in Analysys Mason’s Singapore office and has been with the company since 2000, having relocated from the UK to Singapore in 2008. Paul has managed a wide range of projects for operators, regulators, governments and financial institutions across the globe in support of strategic, operational and policy decisions. His recent major projects include:
- work for the regulator in Brunei to develop a national broadband plan
- a study for a regulator in Asia-Pacific on establishing a spectrum trading regime
- support to a major mobile operator in the move to network sharing
- advice to a regional retail bank in Asia in developing their mobile banking strategy
- support for a leading quad-play provider to develop its network strategy in the face of converging media and telecoms markets
- development of a mobile applications strategy for a major mobile operator group
- support for a leading Asian mobile operator in selecting a strategic partner to establish a joint venture for its business process outsourcing / contact centre operation
Paul is a regular speaker at conferences in the Asia-Pacific region on topics such as spectrum management, fixed and wireless broadband strategies and networks and cloud computing.
In addition to his commercial and regulatory work, Paul has also conducted a wide range of due diligence assignments for financial institutions covering deals in Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and Western Europe.
