Jan Morten Ruud

Jan Morten Ruud is a Partner at Analysys Mason, based in Oslo. He is one of the company's most senior strategy and business development experts and has been working in the telecoms industry since 1990.

Jan Morten was previously a Partner at Nexia Management Consulting AS, which was acquired by Analysys Mason in June 2017.

Prior to joining Nexia in 2002, he founded Bredbåndsfabrikken AS, which was acquired by Bredbandsbolaget AB, where he served as the President and CEO.

Jan Morten has also served as an Executive Vice President at Telia Network Services AB, where he was also Head of Internet, Datacom and Broadband.

His extensive experience includes providing specialist advice to operators, owners and investors, particularly in strategy, business planning and tactics for new market initiatives, and growth and restructuring efforts. Jan Morten has served as a board member and senior executive during several projects and assignments over the years.

With almost 30 years' experience of different roles within the telecoms industry, Jan Morten has in-depth knowledge and insight on the value chains, business models and utilisation of new technolgy and go-to-market models to help businesses gain strategic and market advantage. He has worked for incumbents, new operators and investors.

His other areas of expertise include:  

  • business performance improvement, sales and marketing, restructuring, cost reduction and optimisation
  • expansion and growth planning and execution, company governance, start-up implementation and identifying business opportunities
  • management of large and complex telecoms and data companies and projects

Jan Morten holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Oslo (UIO).
