Oracle launched the Oracle Communications Global Business Unit after making a number of strategic acquisitions. It then proceeded to put together a market leading business in the telecoms software industry and, by 2008, commanded an estimated revenue of USD204 million in the service fulfilment market, with an 8% market share. Its success has been based on its extensive and integrated service fulfilment product line, which fits within an overall Oracle Communications Architecture. Oracle’s service fulfilment is implemented in mobile, wireline, broadband and satellite CSPs, supporting all service segments. Mobile accounts for 25% of the revenue, and is bound to grow as the mobile service fulfilment market grows further, particularly in emerging markets.
