Overview of active infrastructure sharing in India

Until 2007, active sharing was not allowed in India and only passive infrastructure was being shared by operators. The Department of Telecoms (DoT) issued its ‘Guidelines on infrastructure sharing’ in 2008,  which permitted restricted active infrastructure sharing in India, but still there is no law change to mandate active sharing.
