Challenge
Knowing the views of decision makers and industry experts provides invaluable strategic information, but obtaining this knowledge is not straightforward. In addition to having the knowledge and skills needed to relate effectively to industry experts, it is vital to have contacts within the industry.
How can Analysys Mason help?
Analysys Mason has an excellent network of contacts with regulators, operators, equipment vendors and corporate telecoms buyers and end users, and a proven ability to recruit high-quality executive interviewees for research projects. We also have the interviewing expertise and industry knowledge required to develop a good rapport with interviewees and obtain fresh and genuine insights.
Case study: A leading equipment manufacturer with a global presence sought to understand enterprise demand for advanced communications solutions, including unified communications. We undertook an extensive expert interview survey that helped the client refine its market positioning for unified communications, better understand the decision-making criteria for this type of solution and develop a successful sales strategy for the product.
Case study: For a European public sector body that wanted to learn from the experience of other countries, we carried out an extensive analysis of public sector intervention in the broadband market in Ireland, Spain and the UK. The work included 21 face-to-face interviews with individuals working in government agencies and private sector organisations in the three countries studied. Together with desk research, the interviews allowed the client to compare and contrast its own experience with that of other countries.
Case study: To assist a major European operator with its negotiations with the regulator, we carried out an extensive interview programme to understand current and future requirements for leased lines and to understand how the market for leased lines was changing. The results of the programme were used by the operator as part of its submission to the regulator.
