Industry progress towards three key milestones: digitalisation, balance and scale

Caroline Chappell, Research Director and Stela Bokun, Head of Custom Research at Analysys Mason will be joining this Nokia webinar to review the latest results of the Nokia Telco Cloud index (TCi). TCi is a unique industry benchmark of CSPs' progress globally towards the adoption of telco cloud. Since telco cloud is a key building block for a 5G network, the Nokia TCi provides a critical measure of CSP readiness for 5G.

About this webinar

Figure 1 shows the 2018 TCi results. 6 leading-edge CSPs progressed far enough on their telco cloud journeys to reach the Digital Service Provider (DSP) quadrant in the Nokia TCi matrix1.

In addition to discussing the key results from this year's Nokia TCi, the presenters will provide insights regarding three milestones on the telco cloud journey that CSPs need to reach to be able to support and operate a 5G network:

  • milestone 1 - digitalisation: the ability to demonstrate digital behaviours which drive the transformation of a CSP's culture, organisation and capabilities so that it can behave in similar ways to a prototypical digital service provider (DSP)
  • milestone 2 - balance: the ability to align telco cloud technology development with business strategy and commercial priorities
  • milestone 3 - scale: the ability to operate a telco cloud at scale across the organisation, supporting multiple use cases and network functions.
