The focus of Telefónica's analyst day in June 2018 was largely on substantive issues such as digital transformation, fibre roll-out and Telefónica's platform strategy – all long-term projects. However, IoT teams are mostly concentrating on near-term issues. Telefónica On The Spot Services business division (onthespot) is an interesting example of how Telefónica is already earning significant revenue from the retail sector as part of an initiative that started 10 years ago.
