"A virtualised network visibility solution that supports basic NFV networks and a microservices-based solution for cloud-native networks will be necessary to support the virtualisation journey."

5G, when it is first launched, will be based on a non-standalone 5G network that includes a combination of 5G New Radio and 4G core. To support 5G services such as enhanced mobile broadband at scale, communications service providers (CSPs) are virtualising 4G core elements such as IMS and EPC with a view to ultimately migrating to cloud-native components. Granular visibility into the hybrid and cloud-native networks will be essential to monitor and assure 5G services.
