Bosch Connected World 2019: IoT technical enablers are in place; implementation of a commercial framework is next
Bosch was an early entrant in the IoT market through a combination of internal development and technology acquisition. Its Bosch Connected World 2019 (BCW2019) event for its customers and partners was held in Berlin in May and provided key insights into its developing IoT proposition and the level of success that it has achieved in executing on its strategic objective "to build solutions for a connected life." Bosch has made significant progress in the IoT sector, which has been supported by large investment. However, the complexity of its own business, coupled with the complexity of IoT generally, means that evidence of commercial success (compared with technical success) is slower to emerge. This article examines the key pillars of Bosch's strategy for IoT.
