Nokia announced O-RAN products before its competitors, but the ecosystem must still develop
"Operators that want to build 5G using the new multi-vendor model should encourage their vendor partners to follow Nokia’s example and collaborate to develop an O-RAN-based ecosystem."
In early July 2020, Nokia became the first of the network equipment providers (NEPs) to announce RAN products based on the O-RAN Alliance’s open interfaces architecture, but the success of O-RAN depends on the availability of a wide ecosystem – component integration and testing will be key.
