The number of 5G SA launches reached record levels in 2025, while 5G NSA deployments hit a 5-year high

Analysis of the latest edition of Analysys Mason’s 5G deployment tracker reveals that there was a resurgence in the number of 5G launches in 2025. Indeed, operators in 20 countries launched a total of 54 new 5G non-standalone (NSA) networks during 2025; this is the highest number of new launches recorded in a single year since 2020. Operators also launched a record number of 5G standalone (SA) networks in 2025 (23 worldwide).
Analysys Mason’s 5G deployment tracker has 425 entries from January 2018 to January 2026. It lists a total of 384 confirmed commercial launches of 5G NSA networks, 85 confirmed launches of 5G SA networks and 16 confirmed launches of 5G Advanced networks
