17 new submarine cables were launched in 2024 and another 120 are expected by 2028
According to the latest edition of Analysys Mason’s Submarine cable database, 17 new submarine cables became ready for service (RFS) in 2024, connecting over 50 countries across 7 regions.
Analysys Mason’s database provides details on over 650 submarine cables worldwide, including 482 operational cables, 45 in deployment and 75 that are planned. The database includes information on ownership, equipment suppliers, landing points, length, fibre pairs and capacity.
