Operators can use Reduced Capability (RedCap) and enhanced Reduced Capability (eRedCap) to migrate existing LTE traffic to 5G networks. This will enable them to reduce the operational complexity of managing many IoT network access technologies.
This report provides:
- an overview of the challenges that operators face in seeking to increase their 5G RedCap adoption
- an analysis of the opportunity that RedCap presents operators to rationalise their number of IoT network access technologies
- an outline of key RedCap use cases that should be communicated to end users
- an overview of the benefits of 5G RedCap in private 5G network deployments.
