The Cambridge office

Our work

Typical projects

The main area of specialism of the Cambridge office is within the Regulation & Policy pillar, with all propositions under that pillar being areas of focus. However, members of the Cambridge office also work on a wide range of other types of projects, whether through working on a different project type being executed by a Cambridge-based team, or though being a team member on a project which is being managed from another office (a quite regular occurrence).

Office head intro - Cambridge

Welcome to the Cambridge Office of Analysys Mason. A personal introduction: I have been with Analysys Mason for more than twenty years, and am a main Board Director, Head of the Cambridge Office and Managing Partner for the Consulting team spanning Cambridge and London. I also head our TMT Transaction Support activities globally. Analysys Mason and our clients have provided me the pleasure of travelling to and working in more than 110 countries.

The Cambridge Office is home to Consulting, Research, Group Editorial and Marketing and other valuable support staff. The office itself is well located, just a short walk (or free-wheel) to the City centre and a gelato in your hand. Even our recruits from ‘the other place’ like Cambridge!

Mark Colville Principal

Hello! I’m Julia and I’m into crafts, baking, and ultimate frisbee. I hold a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge and my technical background has been very helpful in my role, even though it isn’t at all related to telecoms! What I like about this job is the variety – both within projects, where we use a variety of skills to take a project from conception to delivery, and between projects – one month I’m looking at balloons that provide connectivity in ultra-rural Africa and the next I’m working on a financial forecast for an operator in New Zealand. That variety challenges me and engages me, and makes each day exciting.

Julia Allford Associate Consultant

I joined Analysys Mason in 2018 after completing my MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge. Being a part of this organisation has been a highly rewarding experience, with extensive training, involvement in various high-profile projects, and most importantly working alongside very intelligent and caring colleagues. I am also quite passionate about music and sports; especially EDM and Formula 1 right now. Cooking is another thing that I thoroughly enjoy now; coming a long way from just having pot noodles every day at that start of university.

Amal Asim Consultant

Read Economics at Durham University and moved to the University of Cambridge for my master's in Development studies. I love hiking, traveling and discovering new cultures and foods. I come from a multinational family and I value the multicultural and international aspects of working at Analysys Mason. I also enjoy the diversity of projects we work on with a large variety of clients across the world, from spectrum auctions in Scandinavia to understanding the economic benefits of network infrastructure in the Middle East. Every day is a learning experience!

Culture and benefits

Office and culture - Cambridge

Working in Cambridge

In the Cambridge office we love to get together for planned or spontaneous meals and after work drinks. In your first year as an AC you will have an office “buddy” with which you will go for lunches every month in order to have an informal catch up. We all look forward to our annual Christmas dinner which takes place in one of the Cambridge colleges and is always a great success. Even during the covid-19 pandemic we have managed to maintain a team spirit, with online lunches, quizzes and even wine and cheese tasting.
