Fran is a Partner in Analysys Mason’s Madrid office and co-leads on work in the Iberian and Latin American regions. He has been with Analysys Mason since 2012 and is based in our Madrid office.
Fran specialises in supporting board-level investment and C-level strategy decision-making in the telecoms sector, drawing on his 25 years of experience of working with operators, investors and financial institutions across Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. He has particular expertise in the areas of go to market, commercial and operational improvement, customer value management, large transformational programmes and due diligence/business planning – at both strategic formulation and operational execution levels.
He has recently undertaken diverse due diligence engagements for international telecoms operators and investors, including: takeover of the fourth-largest telecoms operator in Spain, investment in the largest fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) InfraCo in Brazil, acquisition of a regional TowerCo in Southern Europe, vendor due diligence of a leading Italian data centre, commercial and technical assessment of a global submarine cable company, elaboration of a greenfield FTTH business plan for a Chilean telecoms operator and several rural FTTH transactions across Europe.
Fran has a strong telecoms, media and technology (TMT) background, having worked for telecoms operators like Retevisión and Telefónica R&D for 5 years, and having spent more than 7 years with global strategy consulting firms Ernst & Young and DiamondCluster (now part of Oliver Wyman). Prior to joining Analysys Mason, he co-founded mmC Group, a telecoms advisory boutique with a focus on emerging geographies, where he was Partner for 6 years. Fran holds an M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain) and an Executive MBA from IESE Business School (Spain).
