Ericsson and Nokia are focusing on enterprise for new growth but have vulnerabilities that rivals will exploit

Ericsson held its virtual global analyst event in June 2022, in which it outlined its new strategy for 2022 and beyond. This included the announcement of its newly formed Enterprise Wireless Solutions division. In addition, Nokia held a dedicated event for Analysys Mason at its headquarters in Espoo, Finland in June, where presentations focused significantly on the vendor’s enterprise offer. Ericsson and Nokia inevitably compare themselves with each other, but competition will come from many different types of players, and both vendors need to focus on how to compete against the broader competition. This article discusses the strengths and weaknesses of both vendors’ strategies for the enterprise segment, with a focus on private LTE/5G networks.
