Operators have been through a long period of intense capital investment in order to enhance the quality and coverage of their connectivity offerings. They have also faced a period of rapidly rising operating costs due to increasing inflation, with very limited opportunity to increase consumer prices due to a highly competitive market. This has resulted in slow revenue growth that has been below inflation in many regions.

This article summarises the findings of Analysys Mason’s Productivity in the telecoms market: trends and operators’ strategies, which focuses on changes that players in the telecoms industry have implemented and evaluates whether these changes are contributing to an increase in operators’ productivity.
