Iridium uses its second-generation constellation to offer mobile satellite services including voice and data, IoT data and broadband communications. Iridium is pursuing standardised direct-to-device (D2D) solutions to connect smartphones and IoT devices for messaging and emergency services, after the cessation of the agreement with Qualcomm.
