Orange has progressed its quantum key distribution (QKD) trials to launch a commercial service combining QKD and post-quantum cryptography (PQC), working closely with European sovereign programmes such as EuroQCI. Orange plans to extend its PQC‑secured SD‑WAN and global WAN services in 2026, and then introduce inter‑city QKD using the IRIS² satellite constellation between 2027 and 2028.
