5G eRedCap: assessment of characteristics
5G enhanced Reduced Capability (eRedCap) was developed as a 5G variant to address the low end of the IoT market. It is expected to become commercially available from 2026, but adoption will be slow. It will support low-bandwidth applications and eventually act as a consolidator of the various LTE-based networks.
