Rod has over twenty years of experience in the telecoms sector. He has a proven track record of delivering a wide range of assignments for both fixed and mobile operators, specialising in next-generation networks including voice-over-IP (VoIP) and broadband access technologies.
He regularly acts as the technical and design lead for major network strategy projects: for example, he developed a five-year NGN technology strategy for a 2G mobile operator to evolve to 3G and integrate a fixed network operator into a converged IMS architecture. In addition, he has conducted many fixed and mobile technical due diligence assignments, assessing network strategies and reconciling proposed network investment with the network status and future business case aims. He has also conducted a number of projects in the area of next generation access looking at technology and market issues as well as technical studies in the areas of mobile and VoIP for regulatory authorities.
Prior to joining Analysys Mason, he held various positions at Marconi working with Operators in the UK and Asia. He worked in the Product Marketing, Technical Pre-sales and Consultancy teams.
