Rod has over 25 years' experience in the telecoms sector. He has an excellent track record of delivering a wide range of assignments involving fixed and mobile next-generation networks for operators, financial institutions, regulators and other public bodies. He has extensive project management experience, and has successfully completed projects encompassing network strategy, business and technical due diligence, procurement and custom research.
He has undertaken numerous technical due diligence projects around the world, both fixed and mobile, including design and performance reviews. Rod has advised on 3G and LTE strategy and radio access site consolidation as well as reviewing the network performance of mobile operators in Africa and Asia. He has also advised a major UK MVNO on the transition of its core systems from thin MVNO to thick MVNO. His fixed network experience includes defining broadband access strategies (including FTTx, HFC and DSL) and validating resiliency mechanisms. His projects include devising an FTTP strategy for a utility company in the Middle East and the critical review of the HFC deployment strategy for a Asia-Pacific operator.
Rod has a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Birmingham.
