A major international equipment vendor wanted to develop market-sizing models to forecast revenue and market shares for products and equipment specific to telecoms operators, including subscriber data management, OSS/BSS and IMS products. Data on each of these segments was not available publicly, and the company wanted to understand its position in each.

The solution

Analysys Mason manages the outsourcing of the market intelligence function for the client's applications and professional services groups. This ongoing project (now in its third year) involves the production of half-yearly market sizing datasets, along with accompanying material detailing assumptions and methodology.

The scope of the project covers the majority of the telecoms software market, with a product set tailored to fit with the client's portfolio. All results are split into geographical regions covering the entire worldwide market.

The result

Analysys Mason has successfully provided the client with market-size and market-share models for more than 60 products. The client is using these as an integral part of business planning and performance benchmarking.
