Geopolitical changes during 2025 are having a significant impact on the Earth observation (EO) and satellite communications (satcom) markets. As a result, service providers must re-evaluate their market strategies to ensure steady revenue growth and minimise risks. They also need to consider governments’ growing emphasis on national security and procurement based on sovereign capabilities. As such, we believe that EO and satcom service providers should prioritise:

  • increasing supply chain resilience
  • investing in sovereign capabilities
  • diversifying their strategic partnerships.

Analysys Mason’s Satellite-based Earth observation: trends and forecasts 2023–2033 and Government and military satellite communications: trends and forecasts 2023–2033 project a combined cumulative opportunity of USD147.7 billion between 2023 and 2033 for government and military EO and satcom applications.
