The whole telecoms industry can learn from CSPs that are making the leap to Level 4 autonomous networking
Fourteen communications service providers (CSPs) have announced, in the past 2 years, their intention to achieve Level 4 autonomous networks (ANs) in some of their operations by 2025. TM Forum defines such autonomy as the capability to perform self-adjusting predictions and network implementations based on real-time data. Early results from recent network automation deployments suggest that the increase in efficiency and decrease in cost associated with the implementation of L4 ANs varies.
This article outlines where CSPs are using L4 ANs, the technology used to achieve them and the preliminary results regarding their benefits.
