Modern telecoms operators must be able to develop software if they are to succeed. However, heavy reliance on highly skilled programmers, whether in-house or from external suppliers, often creates bottlenecks that hinder agility. Reducing this dependency is essential for operators that are aiming to become more agile and achieve stronger business outcomes.
Low-code and no-code (LC/NC) platforms have emerged as powerful tools to address this challenge by enabling non-technical staff to build applications with minimal coding expertise. LC/NC platforms democratise software development and empower ‘citizen developers’ (business-oriented employees who understand organisational goals) to create solutions directly, thus enabling operators to respond to evolving needs without programmer resources.
