Most public edge nodes are being built using public cloud providers' (PCPs’) hardware by either PCPs themselves or by operators. Content delivery network (CDN) providers are also in-sourcing their servers. Nonetheless, there remain substantial opportunities for independent hardware vendors at the public edge, which we identify and evaluate in this report.
