Analysys Mason’s Wholesale FTTx tariff tracker is an annual survey of fixed access wholesale pricing trends. This article is one of a series that examines the trends relating to changes in wholesale FTTP tariffs that we have identified from the survey.

This article looks at the emergence of software-defined networking (SDN)-based wholesale FTTP access services. It argues that the software-engineered approach may start to fulfil a market need once FTTP networks fill.
