Many operators are showing an interest in converging their fixed and mobile IP core transport networks. This report draws on a survey of operators conducted by Analysys Mason to understand the drivers of, expected cost savings from, and technical enablers of, moving to a converged transport network.

This report provides:

  • the results of a survey of operators on their views on converged IP core networks
  • analysis of the key drivers for operators of moving to converged IP core networks
  • an assessment of the opex savings that operators expect from implementing a converged IP core network
  • discussion of operator views on the key technical enablers for moving to a converged IP core network.
