Submarine cables: opportunities for operators in Africa

Submarine cable networks in Africa can enhance connectivity and reduce costs, but local operators will need to have the ability to invest in this infrastructure in order to reap the rewards. Suitable regulations around the ownership of, and access to, the cables will also need to be introduced. 

This report provides:

• an overview of the opportunities that are arising for African operators
• recommendations for African operators that want to benefit from submarine networks.
