About the event

Carrying more than 95% of voice and data traffic around the world, submarine networks have become critical for supporting today's global economy. In an increasingly connected world, a growing demand for low latency, greater capacity and more flexible networks is driving the industry.

Submarine Networks World has run successfully in Asia for 20 years, now hosts it's first event in Europe to have its own high level meeting point for key stakeholders to meet and discuss strategy, innovation and opportunity at the heart of the communications market in London.

Submarine Networks Europe will look at the global issues affecting the industry today and looking towards the future, with a focus on the EMEA region. The conference will explore how new drivers of demand, technology advancements, new business and partnership models are changing strategy, innovation and the development of the industry.

Key issues discussed include:

  • The evolution of the subsea industry: a look at the big picture
  • Consortium, private or hybrid model?
  • New partnership models: how open networks are changing the market
  • Extending the lifespan of your cable investment
  • Capitalising on the opportunities of network automation
  • Using SDN to create truly flexible networks: the Network as a Service (NaaS) platform
  • Emerging markets: new business opportunities and challenges
  • The regulatory challenges in an evolving industry
  • The implications of cybersecurity for subsea cables
  • How new technologies are shaping the industry and the role of future technologies
