Existing WAN assurance solutions are designed for static branch and WAN networks, and are unsuitable for uCPE-based dynamic WAN services that support multi-cloud environments. Communications service providers (CSPs) should consider using a virtual probes-based dynamic assurance solution that provides single-pane visibility into the WAN, uCPE and applications across multiple clouds.
This report provides:
- an overview of a potential assurance approach for uCPE-based services such as SD-WAN
- an explanation of why the current assurance approach is unsuitable for monitoring uCPE-based services
- three recommendations for CSPs that explain how assurance uCPE-based services should be used for multi-cloud environments.
