The Dubai office

In the early 2000s, the telecoms markets of the Middle East were going through a liberalisation phase. Analysys Mason conducted projects in the region from our European offices, until we became the go-to consultant for Etisalat’s global expansion. We supported Etisalat to acquire licences in Afghanistan, Egypt, India and Iran to name a few. At this stage, in 2008, we opened an office in Dubai, to better serve clients in the region, largely by working more closely with them and giving them more on-site presence. Since then, we have worked for more than 80 clients particularly in the Gulf countries but in a region that extends from Africa to Pakistan.

Location

The Dubai office is in the Al Shatha Tower, located in the heart of Dubai Media City. It is next to the beautiful Dubai Marina and overlooks Sheikh Zayed Road.

The area is full of restaurants and amenities, offering plenty of opportunities for us to meet for lunch or for social events after work.

Typical project

Our typical work covers three of Analysys Mason's five practice areas: strategy, transaction support, and regulatory and policy.

The Dubai office provides a good mix of on- and off-site projects, alternating periods of close, day-to-day interactions with our clients with other periods of work performed from our office or home offices. Client exposure is a definite perk of working with us; even the most junior team members can gain client and boardroom experience from their first day. It is not unusual for our junior team members to be in charge of specific direct client relationships within the framework of a project.

Meet the office head

I lead Analysys Mason’s offices in New Delhi and Dubai. I have over 18 years of experience in advising telecoms operators, investors and policy makers on board-level strategy matters. Prior to working at Analysys Mason, I was a senior member of Monitor-Deloitte’s New York-based TMD strategy practice. I graduated with an MBA as a Dean’s Merit scholar from Carnegie Mellon University USA, and prior to that I was an honours graduate in telecommunication engineering. I am an avid dog lover and cricket fan, and I am a former national champion in Taekwondo.

Having previously worked with a number of management consulting firms around the world, I cannot think of a better place to spend the rest of my career than Analysys Mason. The level of intellect and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the strong bonds between colleagues, give me unmatched pride and gratitude for the opportunity to lead the Delhi and Dubai offices.

Meet our people

I am a Partner in the Dubai office, with more than 15 years of experience in the telecoms industry. I started my career with telecoms operators in France, in roles where I focused on network architecture, design and sales support. This gave me an insider’s view of what working in the industry (for an incumbent and for challengers) was about. I joined Analysys Mason in 2008 in the Paris office and relocated to the Middle East in 2012. In Paris, I worked closely with the local Partner, Stéphane Piot, mostly in France and French-speaking countries such as Belgium and Morocco, and focused on fixed broadband topics and regulatory projects. Since I have been based in the Middle East, I have broadened my skillsets and worked on many high-profile engagements. In all these years with Analysys Mason, I have had many opportunities to support clients on impactful aspects of challenging and stimulating projects. It is truly impressive to feel the extent of industry expertise rooted in the collective knowledge of our people, which is heightened by the culture of collaboration and knowledge between people across different offices. Truly, the expertise and the culture are what I love about Analysys Mason.

I joined Analysys Mason in 2008 and am based in Dubai. I have more than 14 years of experience in providing strategic consulting and investment advisory services to large corporations and investors across the TMT verticals in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Before joining Analysys Mason, I was part of the Strategy & Operations team at Deloitte Consulting and I hold a bachelor's degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Bombay, India. The best part about working at Analysys Mason is the opportunity to work with senior experts with in-depth knowledge of the telecoms industry as well as with some of the brightest young minds from different parts of the world. This offers a large number of learning opportunities during every project and helps us even in the most difficult situations of the most complex engagements.
