Welcome to the Manchester office! I am the head of the Manchester office. I went to university in Manchester and obtained a first-class degree in mechanical engineering and a PhD in aerospace engineering. I then went to work for Shell Research as an explosions scientist for 2 years before making the switch to telecoms consulting and joining Analysys Mason in 1997. I worked in the Cambridge office for 12 years but jumped at the opportunity to move back up north to head the office and be closer to my family. I am married with three children and, as a keen cyclist fell runner, I feel very lucky to live on the edge of the Peak District.
Analysys Mason is a unique company. I never thought that I would stay in telecoms consulting for my whole career, but I am still here after 24 years at the company! The job has taken me all over the world, and I have advised on projects that make a real difference to peoples’ lives. A long- running theme of my work has been promoting broadband connectivity to all parts of society; this is something that is even more pressing than it has ever been, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I cannot do what I do without the support of an office, and the Manchester office is like no other Analysys Mason office!
