Nearly a decade on the client side taught me that the best due diligence answers the investment committee’s real question on page one and tells them where the plan is weakest.
Musheg is a Principal in Analysys Mason’s Transaction practice, working with financial investors and lenders on commercial due diligence, portfolio review and exit strategy. He is helping to build the firm’s technology offering, with a particular focus on business-to-business software as a service (B2B SaaS) and payments. His work spans the deal lifecycle, from early opportunity screening to full due diligence.
Drawing on his experience as the client of firms like ours, Musheg believes the best diligence starts with the decision rather than the data: what does the investment committee need to believe, and which two or three assumptions in the plan matter most? He sees a real opportunity for specialist, independent technology-enabled diligence (particularly in fintech) and enjoys helping clients tell structural change from cyclical noise.
Musheg has spent 12 years in M&A across telecoms and fintech, starting in advisory and investment banking at EY and Jefferies before moving into corporate M&A at VEON and Corpay. His work has covered Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Asia–Pacific.
He holds an MSc in Financial Engineering and Management from KEDGE Business School in Marseille and completed Columbia Business School’s AI for Business & Finance programme in 2026. Outside work, he is an active sports lover with the soul of a trained pianist, and has lived in the Netherlands, France and Russia.
