Zia Bhadiar

Partner

I believe the best strategies are developed with the people who will put them into practice. Working closely with client teams helps us make clear choices, build the capabilities to deliver them and turn those choices into better financial outcomes.

Zia is one of the leading partners helping to build Analysys Mason’s Australia and New Zealand business from occasional projects into a permanent presence. He is actively supporting the global transformation practice and brings more than 20 years of industry and consulting experience across Asia–Pacific, particularly Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia. He is proficient at advising telecoms operators, media and digital-infrastructure businesses on growth, investment and transformation.

Combining commercial judgement with engineering and operating experience, Zia helps clients connect strategic choices with network economics, spectrum and regulatory considerations as well as the practical requirements of delivery. His work spans enterprise and wholesale growth, operating-model transformation, infrastructure carve-outs, and commercial and technical due diligence. He has advised on field-force models, fibre deployment and delivery-partner governance, as well as sports-streaming content, subscription and advertising strategies. He works closely with client teams to develop practical recommendations and carry them through to implementation, with a focus on customer and financial outcomes.

Before joining Analysys Mason, Zia was a Senior Advisor at Bain & Company and led Oliver Wyman’s Australian communications, media and technology practice. Earlier roles at Delta Partners and Strategy& followed engineering and operating leadership positions, including Partner and Chief Operating Officer at TeleResources. He holds an Executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management at UNSW, including an exchange at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology in Pakistan.

Outside work, Zia enjoys spending time with his two teenagers. A cricket fan and self-described ‘fully unqualified’ home renovator, he usually has several projects on the go.
