"Aeris is proactively addressing its weak points, but it needs operator buy-in to achieve its aims to be an open, flexible platform provider."

Aeris used its Partner Summit on 6–7 October 2026, which its mobile network operator customers attended, to set out how it intends to defend and expand its IoT business. It outlined plans to improve the user interface (UI) on its IoT Accelerator (IOTA) connectivity management platform (CMP) by using agentic AI and offering value-added services. It also outlined its views on how Aeris and operators need to respond to potential disruption from SGP.32, the new eSIM specification.

Aeris’s strategy addresses important weaknesses and threats to its business. However, technology alone will not determine its success. Aeris needs its operator customers to embrace services beyond connectivity and eSIM models that give enterprises greater freedom, and it may need to do more to persuade some of its operator clients to move in that direction.
