Analysys Mason’s Submarine cable database reveals that hyperscalers now own stakes in 28 operational submarine cables. Hyperscalers’ submarine cables have so far targeted Asia–Pacific (APAC) to support the provision of their AI and cloud services in the region. Analysys Mason expects further hyperscaler investment in cables to underserved markets in APAC, Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in the future.
