MNOs should partner with alternative deployers to improve the economics of 5G densification
Analysys Mason’s Small cells: worldwide forecast reveals that the small cell market is growing, driven by 5G densification, vRAN/Open RAN and alternative enterprise deployer types. After 2027, the market will enter a period of slowdown due to the economic limitations of the densification business case in key markets. Our research finds that if mobile network operators (MNOs) seek to partner with and support alternative deployer types, they could support longer-term densification and quality-of-service improvements, and increase their addressable market for differentiated services.
