The practice of virtualising the network is leading to more complex operational processes, which will increase costs for communications service providers (CSPs). As a result, CSPs must consider new ways of controlling costs and simplifying operations. SaaS take-up for BSS and OSS transformation has been limited. This article assesses the reasons for this and why it might change.
