Historically, gamers have generally been served by high-speed tariffs without any gamer-specific appeal. This is beginning to change as telecoms operators’ approaches to in-home networking become more sophisticated and as cloud gaming reduces the cost barriers to entry for bundling gaming services.

This report analyses the strategies that five operators are taking to upsell fixed broadband services to hardcore gamers.

Key questions answered in this report

  • In what ways are telecoms operators approaching gaming-centric fixed broadband propositions?
  • How can operators upsell fixed broadband services to hardcore gamers?
  • What is the importance of speed, latency and value-added services (VAS) to selected operators’ gaming broadband propositions?

Operator case studies included

  • HKT (Netvigator)
  • Movistar
  • Singtel
  • Sky UK
  • Zain
