Analysys Mason’s presence in the Swedish market was expanded by the acquisition of AB Stelacon, a respected consulting company with more than 30 years of experience, in March 2019.

With diverse educational backgrounds and operational experience, our Stockholm team offers its clients a unique combination of expertise. The team includes engineers, economists, statisticians, and social and political scientists that bring experience from prior roles within agencies, the business sector and the research community.

The Stockholm office takes pride in its interdisciplinary competence, which allows it to provide clients with new perspectives and insights. Clients range from listed companies and telecoms and media operators, to government agencies, municipalities, state-owned companies and county-council-owned companies.

Through close dialogue and customised arrangements, the Stockholm office provides advice within the areas of transaction support, strategy and planning, and regulation and policy. The team holds specialist expertise in telecoms and digital communications, smart cities, digital services and digital inclusion, supporting clients within both the public and the private sector in these areas. Our experts further provide strategic advice to players in the telecoms and broadband markets on topics such as 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT) and AI. In addition, the team supports clients on topics related to spectrum auctions and spectrum allocation.

Analysys Mason has three offices in Scandinavia, the other two being located in Lund and Oslo. Our team in Stockholm works closely with the other offices across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas, allowing our clients to benefit from Analysys Mason’s global network of consulting and research experts.

Notable projects:

Assessing the benefits of investments in IoT solutions in the public sector

In 2018, Analysys Mason (formerly AB Stelacon) assisted the Swedish Post and telecommunication Agency (PTS) in a cost–benefit analysis of investments in IoT solutions for Swedish municipalities. Based on the analysis, an online tool was developed that displays the economic benefits of various IoT solutions. The tool allows Swedish municipalities to gain insights into the current economic potential of IoT solutions, providing an important basis for decisions in regard to future investments. The online tool can be accessed here:

Nordic feasibility study on mobile positioning data for tourism statistics

On behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministries, Analysys Mason conducted a feasibility study to investigate the prerequisites for carrying out a Nordic development project for the use of mobile positioning data in tourism statistics. The project identified the conditions required in each country, involving areas such as legislation, stakeholders, competence and market structure. On that basis, a robust proposal for the implementation of a Nordic development project was provided.
