Agentic AI is being integrated with OSS platforms as a capability enhancement, and vendors are moving quickly to capitalise on its potential to automate the service lifecycle. Yet automating end-to-end service orchestration with agentic workflows remains stuck at the pilot and trial stage for most operators, despite the wave of agentic product launches. In many cases, the addition of new agentic applications is making the problem harder rather than easier by adding new workflows to operational processes that were already complex.
This article discusses how enabling end-to-end service orchestration for agentic operations requires rearchitecting the underlying operational stack to deliver interoperability, governance, reliability and visibility across systems and domain silos. It also explores where operators should start on their journey towards enabling agentic end-to-end service orchestration.
