Digital twins have become one of the telecoms industry’s most discussed strategic priorities. Nearly all operators with serious ambitions to build autonomous networks are starting to view digital twins as a foundational enabler. Investments and real-world deployments are gaining ground, but operators have still not realised the full potential of these systems.
This article identifies where current approaches to digital twins fall short and what the requirements are to evolve towards cognitive twins. It is based on Analysys Mason’s report Leveraging digital twins to accelerate autonomous networks.
